‘Fibonacci II’ Wall Art 18”x18”

Amber Fey references concrete structures in her “Fibonacci” series using a meditative mix of materials. “I was inspired by architecture and the uncovering of old elements while refurbishing an old building,” she explains. The original work was created by slowly pulling concrete across the canvas to frame a single black-and-white photograph. As the concrete cures, unique markings are revealed for a highly textured surface. Reproduced here to emulate the artist’s original techniques. Hangs in two orientations.

Amber Fey is a Montreal-based artist who uses photography and graphic design to “find elegance in the ordinary.” She describes her work as having “many stylistic quirks, depicted with simple shapes and compositions.”
